Decennial Mineral Exploration Conferences (DMEC)

Encouraging collaboration in mineral exploration

Created initially as an entity to host the legal and administrative items related to the decennial mineral exploration conferences, DMEC has since expanded its focus to encourage workshops and conference forums for the exploration industry.

DMEC’s vision is to see the successful implementation of technology in mineral exploration, when it is meaningfully integrated into programs and that this, in turn, will most likely occur when geoscientists work in a collaborative fashion.

Decennial Conferences

Dating back to 1957, the mineral exploration industry has held exploration summits every 10 years on the ‘7’. Intended as a retrospective and forward looking event, these conferences initially had roots in geophysics, but have since expanded to include a full suite of talks spanning geochemistry, geology and geophysics.

Workshops

We create bespoke continuing education programs to address the needs of teachers and their student communities. From training on the latest technology to new pedagogical methods, we help teachers make their classrooms engaging and successful.

Resources

Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning.
